Western University of Health Sciences’ nursing and physical therapy programs rank among the top 15 in the nation, according to a new report.

The College of Graduate Nursing (CGN) is ranked by the National Center for Education Statistics Top Graduate Programs as No. 14 in the nation for nursing degrees for 2016. The Department of Physical Therapy Education, part of the College of Allied Health Professions (CAHP), is also No. 14 among physical therapy programs in 2016. The 2016 Top Graduate Program rankings represent graduate schools and programs all across the nation and are based on student reviews.

“Today’s nurses aren’t just caring for the sick, they’re changing our very notion of health care delivery,” said CGN Interim Dean Mary Lopez, PhD, RN. “Nurses are giving TED talks, publishing scientific research, developing mobile health care applications, and actively addressing health policy. At WesternU, we are educating nurses to lead health care into the future.”

In the report for the College of Graduate Nursing, one student stated, “As a health care professional, I want to advance my education and knowledge so I can offer more services to those in need. WesternU’s College of Graduate Nursing is a blended program with both on-line and classroom work … their program structure is very student-friendly, and the faculty is very student-focused. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to be part of a program and school such as this.”
