The Dental Center at Western University of Health Sciences will hold a free dental screening for seniors 55 and older from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015.

The screening includes an X-ray of the jaws and teeth and a brief oral examination and cancer screening to determine if any abnormal conditions are present. It also includes a discussion with the patient as to whether they might be appropriate to receive care from WesternU students at The Dental Center. Please call 909-706-3910 to make an appointment, which is required.

“Older adults experience oral disease more frequently than the younger population, and some oral conditions such as gum disease are silent and without symptoms until an advanced stage of disease is reached,” said David Lazarchik, DMD, College of Dental Medicine Associate Dean for Patient Care and Clinical Education. “So it is important for older adults to get regular dental checkups.”

The Dental Center is on the third floor of WesternU’s Patient Care Center, 795 E. Second St., Pomona, Calif. 91766. Click here to visit the Patient Care Center’s website.
