Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) is holding its WesternU

Compatriots Eighteenth Annual Golf Classic on Monday, April 26 at the Los

Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills.

The country club is located at 15656 Yorba Ave.

The event begins with a 10 a.m. check-in followed by a putting contest at

10:30 a.m., with the all-club tournament, in scramble format, slated for

noon. A raffle and awards dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m.

Cost is $125 per person and includes green fees/cart, lunch and dinner.

Proceeds go to scholarships for WesternU students.

Several sponsorship packages are available, from the $5,000 Chairman’s

Sponsor to the $125 single entry fee. Non-golfers may attend the dinner

for $30.

The WesternU Compatriots is a group of local businesspersons and

professionals who serve as community ambassadors on behalf of WesternU.

Their efforts support health care education and benefit the more than

1,300 students studying in the University’s osteopathic medicine,

pharmacy, physical therapy, graduate nursing and physician assistant

programs.

Chair for 1999. Other committee members are Martha Scott of Upland,

Pomona’s Don Hokanson, Richard Schmidt of Yorba Linda, Claremont’s Doug

Bridges and Don Crawford of Chino.

Sav-on Drugs is Chairman’s Sponsor of the event.

Awards will be given to the first-, second- and third-place foursomes, as

well as the winners of the putting contest. There also will be a hole-in-

one contest; a closest-to-the-pin contest; and an award for the longest,

most accurate drive.
