Western University of Health Sciences’ Pomona Community Health Action Team (PCHAT) will hold a free health clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at Madison Elementary School, 351 W. Phillips Blvd., Pomona, Calif. 91766.

The event will feature free physical wellness exams, including a full physical exam, blood pressure, glucose tests, and Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation. All ages are welcome. Children’s educational activities will include reading and tutoring.

The goal is to provide accessible health care while serving the Pomona community’s needs.

“We hope to provide wellness physicals to people who might not otherwise get them,” said second-year College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific student Emily Utschig, president of PCHAT. “We can refer them to low-cost or free clinics where they can get follow-up care as needed.”

“We have a large team of students ready and willing to learn in order to positively contribute to the Pomona community,” said second-year COMP student Peter Baum, PCHAT vice president.
