After several months of uncertainty, the Douglas County Health Department’s Prenatal Clinic finally has secured funding that will allow the county to keep the clinic’s doors open.

And given the current state of the economy, the good news couldn’t have come at a better time, clinic Director Kirstin Carhart said.

"People finding out they’re pregnant and the next day losing their jobs, that’s not a story I’ve heard once. I’ve heard it several times," Carhart said. "We couldn’t need (the clinic) more than we need it right now." Read the full story >>
