Western University of Health Sciences has signed an exclusive agreement to implement HealthFusion’s MediTouch Electronic Health Record (EHR) into the University’s medical school and health sciences programs. MediTouch will also be implemented in WesternU’s new Patient Care Center, which opened in May.

As part of its academic program, WesternU will utilize MediTouch during training to prepare students for the use of EHRs (Electronic Medical Records / EMR). In the Patient Care Center, EHR will be used seamlessly with HealthFusion’s Practice management, Clearinghouse, and billing systems.

“”At WesternU, we are constantly striving to offer the highest-quality education with state-of-the-art technology,”” said Dr. David Connett, WesternU’s Medical Director and Assistant Dean for Post-Graduate Clinical Affairs. “”Today’s technology offers the power to not only streamline operations and increase efficiency, but to improve patient care. We believe that MediTouch’s design, combined with HealthFusion’s comprehensive suite of medical practice solutions, is the best system to give our students a solid education on how to utilize technology in the daily practice of medicine.””

With nearly 3,000 students, Western University of Health Sciences is one of the largest graduate schools for the health professions in California. The University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, with an enrollment of more than 800 students, graduates more primary care physicians each year than any university in the country.

HealthFusion’s MediTouch is the first all-in-one, online, touch screen Electronic Health Record that can be used on a Mac, a PC, or even the new iPad
