More than 1,800 walkers and 296 teams participated in the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes Los Angeles walk on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at Griffith Park.

Western University of Health Sciences was the presenting sponsor. WesternU formed a team and participated in the walk, and also handed out University-themed goodies and information at the WesternU/Patient Care Center booth.

The day honors walkers with Type 1, Type 2 or gestational diabetes, as well as the fundraising accomplishments of teams and individuals, and is an opportunity to promote awareness about the seriousness of diabetes.

The ADA is committed to helping the 25.8 million children and adults with all types of diabetes, as well as those at risk.

More than $260,000.00 has been raised to date. The goal of the walk was to raise $401,000.00. You can still make a difference and make a donation.
