Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif., has expanded its medical practices into the Inland Empire.

Western University Medical Center – Milliken, at 8112 Milliken Ave., Suite 101-2 in Rancho Cucamonga, opened on Jan. 7, 2008.

The 1,722-square-foot medical center’s staff includes David Connett, DO, FACOOFP, assistant dean of postgraduate education development and medical director of the clinic system at WesternU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP), R.S. Brar, DO, PhD, assistant professor of family medicine, and Nancy Alexander, physician assistant-certified (PA-C). The center is expected to handle 400 patients per month by the end of the first year and 600 patients per month by the end of the second year.

Patients can expect high-quality family medicine provided by board-certified, academic physicians, said Jim Elliot, chief administrative officer for COMP.

“This is the first phase in growing our faculty practice,” Elliot said. “We are not only providing quality health care to people in the Inland Empire, we are providing teaching opportunities for students and eventually for residencies.”

The Milliken site complements the services provided at Western University Medical Center at 887 E. Second St. in Pomona.
