Assemblywoman Norma Torres has named Western University of Health Sciences as the 61st Assembly District Business of the Year for Pomona.

“The dedicated service and positive contributions provided by WesternU to our community deserve to be recognized and celebrated,” Torres said.

WesternU will be honored during a ceremony at Torres’ Open House at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 13160 7th Street, Chino, Calif. 91710. Torres will recognize the 61st Assembly District Women, Veterans, Businesses and Emerging Leader of the Year. The Open House runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“WesternU is honored by this recognition from Assemblywoman Torres,” said WesternU President Philip Pumerantz, PhD. “Much of our finest work as an institution has been done as a result of partnerships throughout Pomona and its surrounding communities, and we will continue to seek out new avenues of community engagement while also bringing health and wellness to our neighbors.”
