WesternU Invites Community to Health Fair

Western University of Health Sciences and Assemblywoman Norma Torres invite the public to a free Health Screening & Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, on the WesternU campus, 701 E. Second St., Pomona, Calif.

WesternU faculty and students will provide free blood pressure, dental, foot, glucose, physical therapy and vision screenings. Free rabies vaccinations are available for pets; leashes or pet carriers are required. Influenza immunizations are $10, cash only.

Information on asthma, breast cancer and colorectal awareness, emergency preparedness, heartburn awareness, medication therapy review and Medicare Part D Outreach for Seniors (please bring your Medicare card) will also be offered.

Resources include use of 2-1-1 assistance, Kids Come First Community Clinic, Molina Clinic, Pomona Valley Community Clinic and Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, Inland Empire Health Plan, Medi-Cal and W.I.C.

The fair will be held on the WesternU Esplanade in front of the Health Education Center. Parking is free on weekends.
