WesternU in Spotlight on Radio Show

Dr. Ben Cohen, interim dean of COMP, is scheduled to be interviewed

on the “”Healthy Advice with Dr. Gene”” show on July 14, airing live at 9

p.m. The show can be heard on KRLA 870 AM.

Dr. Cohen is the last in a series of faculty members and

administrators to appear on the “”Healthy Advice”” show hosted by Dr. Gene

Steiner, owner of Peterson’s Pharmacy in Claremont.

Also appearing on the show during April and May were University

President Dr. Philip Pumerantz, who spoke about WesternU’s history,

philosophy and mission and Dr. Max Ray, dean of the College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Ray discussed Pharmacy in education, in health care and private

industry; politics and economics of drug making.

Other guests included Karen Hanford, dean of the College of Nursing,

who spoke about the state’s nursing shortage and Dr. Shirley Johnston,

dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, who discussed the college’s

philosophy. Dr. Donna Redman-Bentley, chair of the Physical Therapy

Department and Dr. Michael Burney, chair of the Health Sciences

Department, both part of the College of Allied Health Professions, also

appeared on the radio program.
