WesternU hosts Integrated Care Conference

About 60 professionals from the fields of mental health and behavioral health attended the Tri- City Mental Health Services Integrated Care Conference.

Western University of Health Sciences hosted the training and networking event in the Rodney P. Wineberg Center’s Trendle Hall Wednesday, April 8, 2015.

Welcoming and keynote speakers included Rimmi Hundal, Tri-City; Jeff Keating, WesternU Executive Director of Public Affairs and Marketing; and Shelby Rusu, Pomona’s Promise.

Training presentations included:

    • "Co-occurring Disorders from Mental Health and Substance

       Abuse Perspective," presented by Cathy Proffitt-Allison,

       LCSW, Inland Psychiatric Medical Group Inc., and Christina

       Mallory, CATCII, CCS, Brand New Day.

    • "ACES: What Are They, What Do I Need to Know, and How Might They Impact Practice?" presented by Julie Gould, LCSW.

    • "Diabetes: A Primer for Health Care Professionals," presented by Melanie Barbee, registered dietitian, WesternU Western

       Diabetes Institute.
