WesternU students and faculty hosted 45 high school students from across the world Thursday, July 10, 2014 at its Pomona, California campus.

National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Careers in Medicine is a high school summer medical program providing students opportunities to experience fields in medicine and health care, and the chance to explore health professional career opportunities, according to its website.

Students from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) and the College of Podiatric Medicine (CPM) volunteered their time showing students various organs in the gross anatomy lab, and then showed them clinical skills using the blood pressure monitor, reflex hammer and stethoscope.

College of Veterinary Medicine Associate Professor Diane McClure, DVM, PhD, DACLAM, CPM Dean Lawrence Harkless, DPM, and COMP Assistant Professor Jesus Sanchez, DO, also gave presentations and demonstrations.
