WesternU Hires Human Resources Supervisor

Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) has hired Cheryl

Utterback as supervisor of the human resources department.

Utterback previously worked at Allfast Fastening Systems, Inc., in the

City of Industry, where she was a human resources manager for 13 years.

Her responsibilities there included recruitment, compensation, benefits

administration, rideshare, employee relations, safety, affirmative action

and production of a company newsletter.

At WesternU, she will continue ongoing updates of employee policies,

maintain accurate job descriptions and recruit new staff members.

“”I decided to come to WesternU because of the good working environment and

the great benefits here,”” Utterback said. “”My goal is to help the human

resources department run efficiently and be a service to employees and

students.””

Utterback holds a certificate in human resources management from the

University of Phoenix branch in Diamond Bar, where she also is pursuing a

bachelor’s degree in business management. She has studied business

administration at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, and earned a

certificate in effective personnel management from Cal Poly Pomona. She

holds membership in the Society for Human Resources Management and also in

the Personnel in Human Resources Association.

vice president of facilities management and physical plant. “”Her expertise

will make a great contribution to our human resources department.””
