Individuals involved with small, non-profit organizations in the Inland

Valley may want to check out a grant writing training course offered at

Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) beginning March 31.

The course, offered by WesternU’s Department of Grants, Research and

Contracts Administration, will be presented in five segments, each

addressing different aspects of the proposal writing process. Each session

meets Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through April 28. Cost is $194 and

since each participant will receive individual attention, enrollment is

limited to 20. Registration deadline is March 17. The course may be

offered again later in the year if demand warrants.

The course will provide participants with basic competencies in the

design, preparation, completion and submission of applications to

corporate and foundation sponsors. Session topics include basic

preparation; “”How to Find the Perfect Funder;”” need statements, objectives

and methods; evaluation, summary and introduction; and budgets, future

funding and wrap-up.
