Western University of Health Sciences’ annual “A Tribute to Caring” gala, which raises money for student scholarships, will take place on Nov. 10, 2012 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.

The theme this year is “Look How Far You’ve Brought Us,” honoring all of the supporters who have helped make WesternU the outstanding academic and patient care center that it is today.

“In this our 35th anniversary year, there is no finer tribute than to gather with key friends and donors to celebrate the tremendous return on their investment in us,” said WesternU President Philip Pumerantz, PhD. “As most of you know, the University’s partnerships in the communities we serve across the region, nation and world are part of the lifeblood of our institution. These partnerships help train new generations of healers in a wide variety of areas, and establish lasting bonds between WesternU and community organizations, schools, governments, and business.”

WesternU was established in 1977 as the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, and in 35 short years has grown into an institution composed of nine colleges and two campuses, each wholly committed to producing, in a humanistic tradition, health care professionals and biomedical knowledge that will enhance and extend the quality of life in our communities.

Today, WesternU is a thriving academic health center with an enrollment of more than 3,600 students. Alumni, now more than 9,000 strong, are working all over the world improving the quality of life for the patients in their communities.
