Paul Gettler has joined Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU)

as a publications associate. In his new position he will work on the

design and production of all University-related publications and other

printed material, including diplomas, business cards, event programs and

the student yearbook.

Gettler previously worked for eight years at the Inland Valley Daily

Bulletin newspaper as a promotional artist in the creative services

department. While there he was honored with an Overall Promotional

Excellence award.

“”I like the idea of working at an educational institution. It provides a

meaningful opportunity while requiring attention to detail and quality,””

Gettler said. “”I’ve found that there’s a lot of creative elbowroom here at

WesternU, which makes my job really rewarding.””

According to Kim Peasley, publications director, Gettler was hired to

maintain the high quality of the department’s growing number of projects

while continuing to meet campus deadlines.

“”Paul was an excellent choice for us because of the variety of his

experiences in design,”” Peasley said. “”Because of his background in

newspapers he understands deadlines, and he has a real eye for

creativity.””

Gettler is originally from Arizona, and graduated from the Art Center of

Tucson. He lives in Rialto with his wife, Lisa, who trains mentor teachers

in the Ontario-Montclair Unified School District. The couple has two

children.
