The just released U.S. News & World Report “”America’s Best Colleges,

2006″” reports that Western University of Health Sciences has earned a

distinctive ranking this year. On the USNews.com site about medical

schools, the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific at WesternU

was top ranked as the hardest school to get into among the reported

private osteopathic medical schools.

The top ranking is based on the admission data of the entering class

of 2004 which included such factors as average undergraduate GPA, average

MCAT score for physical sciences, biological sciences, and verbal

reasoning.

WesternU attributes this recognition to the concerted effort of the

faculty and dean to enhance the core values of the college, the work to

enhance the diversity of the student body, and the college’s commitment

to humanism.
