Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Veterinary Medicine will hold its 12th annual Open House from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 on WesternU’s Pomona campus, 309 E. Second St., Pomona, Calif. 91766. Admission is free and open to the public.

The event is organized and run by WesternU’s Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association. The theme is “Animals Around the World.” Activities will include pet care tips, live animal learning exhibits, a microchip clinic, information on how to become a veterinarian, and food, drinks and ice cream from local vendors. The Aquarium of the Pacific, Reptile House, Bunny World Foundation and others will have interactive exhibits.

Last year, more than 2,000 local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts attended and earned scouting badges while learning about animals and the veterinary profession. Scouts will again be able to earn merit badges, and CVM will offer its own fun badges for purchase on site.
