Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Pharmacy celebrated six Master of Science in Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSBPS) graduates at a celebration luncheon on May 2, 2024.

Each student, who celebrated Commencement on May 16, 2024 in Pasadena, received a certificate and words of wisdom from COP Dean Sunil Prabhu, BPharm, PhD.

“You have bright futures and many of you will go on to do wonderful things,” Prabhu said. “Some of you will start companies. Some of you will become star scientists in different places. But always remember where you started. We are one of a handful of schools that gave you a free education, a very high quality of research, and allowed you to flourish.”

MSBPS student Iffat Hasnin Era said the program is really well organized.

“I learned a lot of lab skills and improved my research skills too,” she said. “It helped me to improve my knowledge in writing research and it helped me with analytical writing. Whenever I felt there was any problem, I could go to any faculty to share my problem. They help students at any time.”

COP held this second-annual luncheon to let the MSBPS students know that they are appreciated, said COP Director of Graduate Education Arbi Nazarian, PhD. They are a great group of students, he said.

“Given we’re a small program, we interact with them very closely. We see their growth. They are on the path to be scientists,” Nazarian said. “We are grateful for their time here. We want to send them off with the best wishes we can possibly wish them.”
