Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) bookstore is holding one

of its largest book fairs ever Thursday through Saturday, May 6-8. The

general public is urged to attend and take advantage of discounts of up to

10 percent on a great variety of medical and health care title.

Representatives from six textbook publishers will be on hand from 10 a.m.

to 2 p.m. May 6 to promote new titles and answer questions. They are:

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Appleton & Lange, Blackwell Science, Mosby,

Springhouse, and F.A. Davis.

Several of the participating publishers have agreed to donate 5 percent of

proceeds from sales of their books during the event to the WesternU Alumni

Association, which will use the funds to help support a book scholarship

program.

“”We would like to do more business with the public,”” said Liz Guerra,

bookstore director. “”We’re at the point where we have the resources to

reach out more to the community, and we’d love to be of service to our

neighbors.””

A raffle will be held each day of the fair; tickets will be given away

with book purchases.

WesternU’s bookstore is at 309 E. Second St., Pomona. Hours for the fair

are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6-7, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 8. The store has

an inventory of more than 2,000 medical-related titles.
