Several Western University of Health Sciences alumni were named as top health care professionals in the region in Inland Empire magazine’s “”Top Doctors”” edition.

The September 2012 article is a roundup of 490 of the region’s favorite doctors, with interviews and short profiles.

Three graduates from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) made the list: Muhammad Rahmi Mowjood, DO ’00, a family practice physician in Fontana; John D. Branch, DO ’85, a family practice physician in Riverside; and Jeffrey Dean Ries, DO ’84, a neurologist in Upland.

Patients also made favorable comments about their doctors in the magazine’s Favorite Doctors Readers’ Poll, which included comments about Steven Barag, a 1987 alumnus from the Master of Science in Health Professions Education (MSHPE) program, James Lally, DO ’91, MSHPE ’93, Kevin Mielke, DO ’84, Jeffrey Dean Ries, Horst Rudrich, DO ’89, Monica Valenzuela-Gamm, DO ’01, and Branch.

Patient Devin Doss said, “”Dr. Lally is extremely dedicated to providing the best care, service and education to both his patients and staff. Kind, compassionate, caring, down to earth.””

Patient Phyllis Noel said of Dr. Mielke, “”He makes me feel like family. Always has time to listen — never feels rushed.””
