Western University Hires Director of Student Affairs

Patricia M. Delesante, MA, an educator and communicator with years of

diverse college-level leadership and experience, has joined Western

University: A Graduate University of Medical Sciences, as director of

student affairs.

She comes to Western University after years as an adjunct professor at

both Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, and Antelope Valley College, in

Lancaster. Her areas of instruction included intercultural communication,

small group communication, public speaking, gender and communication and

interpersonal communication.

“”With its five colleges, its diverse student population and its focus on

caring and outreach to underserved communities, I knew Western University

would be a place where my skills could make a difference,”” Delesante said.

In her new position, Delesante will act as advisor to Western University’s

student government association and other campus organizations, as well as

to the student yearbook, The Neocortex. Her duties also include acting as

liaison between the University’s 1,500 students and administration.

Delesante received her master of arts degree in communication from

California State University, Northridge, and her bachelor’s in

communication from California State University, San Bernardino.

She lives in Valencia.
