The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Western University of Health Sciences will hold its 10th annual Open House from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 along the campus’ Esplanade at 799 E. Second Street, Pomona, California.

The Open House is one way the College reaches out to the community and increases awareness about WesternU and CVM. It also gives guests an opportunity to have fun while learning about the veterinary profession, pet care and animal awareness.

The Open House is a free, family-friendly event that is open to the public. Click here for more information about the event, and to register Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Registration is open through April 3.

Last year, more than 1,700 Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from across Southern California registered for the event. About 2,000 Scouts are expected to register this year. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts earn scouting merit badges and fun patches at the Open House as they learn about various aspects of animal care.

CVM students and clubs provide information on pet care and tours of the College and the WesternU Pet Health Center. K-9 unit demonstrations, shelter pet adoptions, pet microchipping, and pet vaccinations also will be available.

Sponsors for this event are: Nestlé Purina, Merial and Zoetis.
