Kudos on accomplishments

COMP student Courtney Martin, OMS-IV, wrote an abstract, “Sickle Cell Disease and Contraceptive Use,” that was selected as a poster presentation at the 59th Annual Clinical Meeting of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in Washington, D.C. April 30-May 4, 2011. The co-authors are Dr. Penina Segall Gutierrez and Dr. Daniel Mishell Jr. from USC.

New Duties

Tim Bamrick, the Director of Development for the Colleges of Podiatric Medicine and Optometry since 2008, will be the new Director of Development for the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific effective Dec. 1, 2010. In his new role at COMP, Tim’s responsibilities will include fund raising efforts for COMP in Pomona and for the COMP-Northwest campus in Lebanon, Ore.

Sandra Rainwater-Lawler, MA, Assistant Director of the Accommodations and Resource Center, and College of Optometry Assistant Professor Jasmine Wong Yumori, OD, have an article published in the Fall 2010 (Vol. 36, No. 1) edition of Optometric Education, the Journal of the Association of Schools and College of Optometry, titled “Diagnosing Reading Disabilities at a Graduate School Level.”
