WesternU, dA Center for the Arts team up for art show
The Eye Care Center (ECC) at Western University of Health Sciences has partnered with the dA Center for the Arts in downtown Pomona to showcase three artists.
The exhibit is in the ECC, on the first floor of the Patient Care Center, 795 E. Second Street, Pomona, Calif., 91766. It is open to the public, and is expected to run through January 2015, when three new artists are expected to be showcased.

Dawn Stone, MN, APRN, ANP, Assistant Director of Ambulatory Care Track and Associate Professor, is this year’s recipient of the Moore Excellence Award announced at the California State Association for Occupational Health Nurses Conference in San Diego.

CVM student Zachary Francisco, DVM ’17, gave an oral presentation Nov. 4 at the Humane Endings 2014 AVMA Welfare Symposium in Chicago, a three-day international symposium on euthanasia.
Dr. Brian Oakley has been notified that the peer review of his manuscript, “”Successional Changes in the Chicken Cecal Microbiome During 42 Days of Growth are Independent of Organic Acid Feed Additives,”” Brian B. Oakley, R.J. Buhr, Casey W. Ritz, Brian H. Kiepper, Mark E. Berrang, Bruce S. Seal and Nelson A. Cox, has been accepted for publication in the BMC Veterinary Research Journal.

The College of Optometry organized a no-host Alumni Mixer on Nov. 14 at The Corner Office Restaurant and Martini Bar in Denver, Colo. The event was held during the American Academy of Optometry’s “”Academy 2014″” Conference and was attended by more than 30 alumni, students and faculty, including representatives from both of the College’s alumni classes.
