Third-year College of Podiatric Medicine students Marcela Orellana and Dana Brems had an abstract accepted for oral presentation at the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting & Expo Nov. 4-8, 2017 in Atlanta. The abstract, “Limitations of Ad Hoc Interpreters on Patient Understanding and Compliance in Diabetic Foot Care,” will be presented on Nov. 7. On the morning of Thursday, June 1, Ruby Hoang, DO ’17, received the Alumni Memorial Award during the COMP-Northwest Graduate Awards Breakfast in Lebanon, Ore. The only University-wide graduate award, the Alumni Memorial Award is presented annually by the WesternU Alumni Association in memory of deceased alumni to the one graduate throughout the University who best exhibits the dedication and enthusiasm of a future alumnus or alumna. Ruby received $500 and was presented with a certificate and a small gift.
