Department of Physical Therapy Education News

Student-led fundraising efforts by the DPT classes of 2015, 2014, and 2013 resulted in Western University of Health Sciences being placed on “The List” of 80 Physical Therapy (PT) and Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) schools that contributed to the Foundation for Physical Therapy by participating in the 2012-13 Pittsburgh-Marquette Challenge. Each year for the past 24 years, students at PT and PTA schools nationwide have made an impact on physical therapy education and research by supporting the Foundation for Physical Therapy through the “Challenge.” To date, students have raised more than $2.3 million to support the Foundation’s doctoral and research grants. WesternU was also recognized at the Foundation’s Gala on June 27 held in conjunction with the Annual Conference of the American Physical Therapy Association in Salt Lake City.
