Commencement 2014

The 33rd Annual Commencement Exercises for Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif., will set a record when 963 students – the most in WesternU history — from nine colleges realize their dream of becoming health care professionals. Last year, the University graduated 932 students.

The ceremonies will be held May 14-16, 2014 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, 300 E. Green St. in Pasadena. The commencement ceremonies are not open to the general public, but media is invited to attend. Click here to read the full story.

Towne & Gown Golf Classic

WesternU invites everyone to an exciting day of golf to benefit the Towne & Gown Endowed Scholarship.

The Towne & Gown Golf Classic will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 at Red Hill Country Club, 8358 Red Hill Country Club Dr., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

Registration and lunch starts at 11 a.m. followed by a noon shotgun start. The Hole-in-One prize is a 2014 Chevrolet, sponsored by Mark Christopher Auto Center. Reception dinner and awards ceremony will follow the event.

Cost is $200 per golfer or $800 per foursome. Dinner for a non-golfing guest is available for a fee of $50. Proceeds will benefit the Towne & Gown Endowed Scholarship thanks to the generosity of T.F. Chen, DDS. Deadline to enter is June 9, 2014.

Helicopter Drop

Everyone is invited to join the Towne & Gown Golf Classic Helicopter Drop, whether you’re at the golf course or not. The helicopter team will dump numbered golf balls over a designated hole, and the owner of the ball that lands in the hole (or closest to the pin) will win the 50-50 cash prize. Alumni news

COMP’s 7th Annual CME Conference will take place in HEC on Saturday, May 3. About 100 alumni are expected back on the Pomona campus to earn seven Category 1-A credits from the American Osteopathic Association. During the Conference’s lunch break, the alumni attendees will be joined by OMS II students to share their experience and insight with the next generation of DOs.
