Advances in the speed of DNA sequencing could help save the snow leopard and other endangered species by improving controlled breeding or addressing species-threatening illnesses.

Oregon State UniversityOregon State University researchers will help decode the genome for the snow leopard in the hopes of helping the endangered cat.The breakthrough allows scientists to rapidly sequence DNA, a process that once was formidable, if not simply impossible.
