Sarkaria Endowed Professorship in Neuroscience

Western University of Health Sciences is pleased to announce the Daljit

and Elaine Sarkaria Endowed Professorship in Neuroscience. This is the

first endowment ever initiated at WesternU. The Sarkaria Professorship

is a tenured appointment in the area of neuroscience.

The first recipient of this generous endowment is Xiaoning Bi, MD, PhD,

associate professor of physiology with the Department of Basic Medical

Sciences, College of Osteopathic medicine of the Pacific. Dr. Bi has

over a decade of international experience in basic medical research in

the field of neuroscience and age-related diseases.

The Sarkaria endowment allows Dr. Bi to join an increasing team of

neuroscience researchers at COMP who will further the strategic research

initiatives of Western University of Health Sciences.

A meet and greet reception was held on Friday, February 17 in the

University Alumni Center.
