Piano Music at Sunset

About 100 faculty, students, staff and guests enjoyed an evening of classical, pop, blues, improvisational and original music on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 during "Piano Music at Sunset" in the Recital Hall of WesternU’s Health Education Center.

The musical event, sponsored by University Student Affairs and University Advancement, featured five student performers, whose pieces ranged from Rachmaninoff to Alicia Keys to blues improvisation, all played on the grand piano donated to WesternU last year by Provost and COO Ben Cohen, DO, and his wife, Regan.

Performing were Edward Lin, DO 2014; Jonathan Bulos, DPT 2011; Connie Tsai, OD 2013; Marianne Florendo, OD 2014; and Randall Johnson, DO 2014. Audience members included WesternU President Philip Pumerantz, PhD, and his wife, Harriet; Dr. and Mrs. Cohen; Senior Vice President Thomas Fox, PhD, and his wife, Mary; Executive Vice Provost Gary Gugelchuk, PhD; Clinton Adams, DO, dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, and his wife, Paula; Dr. Daniel Robinson, dean of the College of Pharmacy; and Dr. Elizabeth Hoppe, dean of the College of Optometry.

The event was hosted by Dr. Beverly Guidry, Vice President for University Student Affairs, and Jeff Keating, Executive Director of Public Affairs.
