WesternU Family,

The tragic shootings at Northern Illinois University on February 14 are a reminder to all of us that life is precious. I am personally shocked and saddened by that tragic event, and I know that all of you share in the grief being experienced by those who have been personally affected. Our hearts and prayers go out to those injured and those who have lost their lives.

I want all of you to know that Western University of Health Sciences does have in place an Emergency Management Organization (EMO), which closely works with first responders including law enforcement and other emergency personnel. In association with all these groups, we are constantly reviewing our emergency policies and procedures in light of events such as the tragic shootings at NIU. While none of us can predict the future, please know that better insuring your safety while you are on-campus remains a paramount concern.
