The new Medical Center for Western University of Health Sciences is

celebrating its grand opening on Wednesday, November 30 at 11 a.m. The

new Center is located at 887 E. Second Street, just east of Towne Ave. in

Pomona.

Joining the ceremony will be the Pomona Chamber Commerce, Dr.

Philip L. Shettle, President of the American Osteopathic Association, and

Dr. James Lally (COMP ’91), President of the Osteopathic Physicians and

Surgeons of California and president and chief medical officer of the

Chino Valley Medical Center Services.

Seeing over 10,000 patients per year the Medical Center has moved

from its Mission Blvd. location where it was opened in1984 in a building

that once housed the Hamilton Drug Store. Many of the patients do not

have medical insurance or cannot afford medical care.

The Medical Center offers ambulatory, primary health care

services to families in the Pomona area. Medical students for the

University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific serve in

rotations through the Center giving them opportunities to work with

patients.
