A monthly newsletter has been started by the College of Veterinary

Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) to keep the

veterinary world and general public current on the development of

America’s newest veterinary school.

The newsletter, called WesternU’s Veterinary News, will cover upcoming

events, accreditation updates, curriculum developments and faculty and

staff introductions. It will also contain feature articles on the

College’s unique programs and opportunities. The College’s Web site www.westernu.edu/vetme

d/newsevents.htm will contain the text of the newsletter in its

entirety each month, and copies will be mailed to the school’s preceptors

and supporters.

WesternU’s College of Veterinary Medicine is scheduled to welcome its

first class of 70 students in the fall of 2001, and will offer a four-year

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree program. Once it secures the

first step in the AVMA accreditation process it will be the first

veterinary school to open in the United States since 1983.

To be added to the mailing list for WesternU’s Veterinary News, or for

more information about the College of Veterinary Medicine, call (909) 469-

5628.
