Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU) has named two new

assistant professors: Diana Lithgow, RN, MSN, FNP-C, in the College of

Graduate Nursing; and Bartley Yee, DO, in the Department of Family

Medicine.

Lithgow works at community clinics in Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach

and has served as a clinical preceptor for nursing students at WesternU,

UC Irvine, USC and Cal State Long Beach for several years. The Huntington

Beach resident specializes in women’s health and special procedures,

although her practice includes pediatrics, geriatrics and adult medicine.

She is the treasurer for the Orange County Region of the California

Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, for whom she also serves as the state

chair of the Medi-Cal Managed Care Task Force. In 1997 Lithgow was awarded

the California Nurse Practitioner of the Year award for her achievements

by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Yee was previously the medical director of the family health clinic at

Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, where he was also the director of the

family practice residency in the department of medical education and

former chairman of the family/internal medicine department. He has also

recently worked as a medical consultant for Cambrian HomeCare in Long

Beach. At WesternU, he will be coordinating the differential diagnosis

portions of the systems courses, in which students learn to utilize

clinical thinking skills.

Dr. Yee earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Michigan

State University after getting a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from

UCLA. He holds membership with the American Osteopathic Association and

the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California, and resides in La

Habra.
