Giveaways, health screenings part of free InfantSEE family event at Pomona school

A special event to promote infant wellness will feature clothing, haircut and grocery giveaways, free health screenings by Western University of Health Sciences students, and a presentation by celebrity entertainer and vision advocate Tom Sullivan.

The “”Hand 2 Hand”” event will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday Aug. 24, 2013 at Simons Middle School, 900 E. Franklin Ave, Pomona, Calif. A special presentation by InfantSEE will follow from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the school.

The InfantSEE presentation, sponsored by the Allergan Foundation, will feature entertainer and vision advocate Tom Sullivan. He will be joined by Glen Steele, OD, who is in charge of the InfantSEE national program; a panel of vision experts from WesternU; and infant and child development speakers from the Pomona Unified School District.

Raffle prizes including gift cards and bicycles will be given away to attendees after the presentation.

WesternU will also host “”An Inspirational Evening with Tom Sullivan”” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 on the campus in Pomona. This event is for invited guests.

Free vision, dental, medical, blood and glucose screenings will be available during the event as well as free haircuts, clothing, groceries, breakfast and lunch.

The Eye Care Center at Western University of Health Sciences is an InfantSEE provider location. Doctors of optometry provide one-time, no-cost eye and vision assessment to infants between the ages of 6 and 12 months.
