The Family Clinic — with three local physicians — will open for business on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 64 Winthrop Avenue in historic downtown Sopchoppy.  Dr. Kymberly D. Rittman (D.O., Board certified Family Practice), Dr. Christopher J. Rittman (D.O., Board eligible Internal Medicine) and Dr. Dave Pierce (D.O., Diplomate of the American Board of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine and Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians) will head the Clinic.

All three are 1994 graduates of Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA.  Dr. Kym Rittman completed her residency in Family Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ; Dr. Chris Rittman in Internal Medicine in Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix and Dr. Pierce in Emergency Medicine at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.

The Rittmans, who have been married 12 years, operated a clinic in Branson, MO. for 10 years before relocating to the Gulf Coast.  They are the parents of four children, ages 8, 5, 3 and 1.  Dr. Pierce has been a resident of Sopchoppy for seven years and has worked in emergency rooms in and around North Florida for 10 years.  Said Dr. Kym Rittman:  “We have fallen in love with the area and clearly saw a need for physicians.  We hope to provide quality health care within a family environment to the people of Wakulla and Franklin Counties.”

Family Clinic hours are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with walk-ins and visitors welcome.  For an appointment, please call 850/962-2868.
