Brett Boston, director of Environmental Health Safety and Security at Western University of Health Sciences, presented a plate, a plaque and pictures to Pomona Police SWAT Division honoring fallen Pomona Police Officer Shaun Diamond, who died Oct. 29, 2014, one day after he was shot serving a search warrant.

The presentation was held Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 at the Pomona Police Department Training Facility. Pomona Police SWAT and Los Angeles Police Department SWAT were present.

The glass plate has a four-leaf clover and his badge number, 104, on it. The bamboo plaque has an etching of his badge with the words “Honoring Shaun Diamond, Pomona Police – SWAT, E O W, 10-29-2014.”

“In October of 2014 we lost a very special and dear friend – Officer Shaun Diamond,” Boston said. “From the first time I met Shaun at a DPOA meeting until the last time we spoke, Shaun was always there for you. Shaun was not just a cop; he was a big part of Pomona. Shaun was what Pomona Police ask of all their officers. To have integrity, honor and to care for those who live and work in the City of Pomona.

“Shaun was a real go-getter and he deserves to be remembered and to have his story told to those who shall walk in his footsteps.”

The items were presented from Western University of Health Sciences, the Mackey/Cooper family, Boston Family, Sevesind family, Becerra family and Seth Miller.
