Executive with Extensive University Marketing Experience Joins Western University of Health Sciences

Douglas C. Colby, an executive with extensive marketing experience at two

major Southern California universities, has joined Western University of

Health Sciences’ Department of University Advancement as director of

corporate relations.

In his new position, Colby will build relationships between the university

and corporations related to the health professions.

“”Corporations want a partnership with institutions of higher education and

universities welcome such alliances,”” Colby said. “”Corporate relations is

the central voice of connectivity between the university and corporations

and I look forward to helping Western University become a hub of

information to the corporate community.””

Colby most recently served as assistant director of the USC Associates at

the University of Southern California where he created programs to

increase Associates membership and participation. Prior to USC, Colby

worked as associate director of development at the Argyros School of

Business and Economics at Chapman University in Orange. While there he

designed and coordinated programs and events to yield significant

increases in annual fundraising efforts through the school’s Corporate

Partners program.

His experience also includes positions with Multi-Media Publishing &

Packaging in Chatsworth and several senior management positions at Gateway

Learning Corporation – maker of the popular “”Hooked on Phonics”” program –

in Santa Ana.

Colby received his bachelor of arts degree in music from Fort Lewis

College in Durango, Colorado. He and his wife, Holly Ivey, live in Anaheim

Hills.
