Edward James Olmos keynotes WesternU Commencement

Western University of Health Sciences’ colleges of Dental Medicine, Optometry, and Podiatric Medicine will reach a noteworthy milestone on May 15, 2013, as they graduate their charter classes at Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

Actor, producer and humanitarian Edward James Olmos will be the keynote speaker for the commencement ceremony, which will conclude with more than 150 total students from the three programs receiving their degrees. Each of the colleges was established in 2007, and welcomed inaugural classes of students to their four-year programs in August 2009.

The ceremony will be the first of five that will comprise WesternU’s 32nd Commencement Ceremonies May 15-17, 2013 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, 300 E. Green St., Pasadena, Calif. 91101. Click here to view WesternU’s Commencement website.

Commencement ceremonies are not open to the general public, but media is invited to attend.

The Commencement schedule:

Wednesday, May 15

9:30 a.m.: Inaugural ceremony for the colleges of Dental Medicine, Optometry, and Podiatric Medicine.

3 p.m.: College of Pharmacy

Thursday, May 16

9:30 a.m.: Colleges of Allied Health and Graduate Nursing

3 p.m.: College of Veterinary Medicine

Friday, May 17

9:30 a.m.: College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and Graduate College of Biomedical Sciences
