POMONA, Calif. – May 17, 2007 — East West Bank and Western University of

Health Sciences on Thursday said they have entered into an agreement to

make the Western University campus the permanent site of the bank’s

annual health fair kick-off.

“”We are very grateful for Western University of Health Sciences’

participation in this meaningful community event,”” said Emily Wang,

senior vice president and marketing director of East West Bank,

headquartered in Pasadena. “”The university has proven to be a tremendous

resource for us and has enabled East West Bank to extend our services to

more communities.””

Western University experts demonstrated the many services it offers to

the community during a news conference May 15 with East West Bank

announcing the bank’s kick-off of its upcoming June 2007 community health

fairs. Guests were provided free glucose screenings, an informative

panel presentation on nutrition and free health screenings for their pets

by the university’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

“”We at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Western University as a

whole are pleased to join our partners, East West Bank, in providing pet

micro-chipping at the bank’s mini health fairs,”” said Shirley Johnston,

founding dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Western

University.

“”Pets enhance the quality of our lives in many ways, and we embrace the

opportunity to protect them from losing their way,”” Johnston said. “”We

also look forward to providing your clients with services from our other

programs including medical screenings and pharmaceutical counseling as a

comprehensive approach to wellness.””

This is the 10th year East West Bank has held the health fair and the

first year Western University of Health Sciences has participated in the

event.
