Samaritan plans to educate med students in mid-valley

Consider these numbers: In Oregon, 55 percent of the state’s physicians are in the Portland area.

Research shows about 50 percent of new physicians establish their practice where they went to medical school. Between 75 percent and 85 percent of medical residents stay where they complete their residency.

Those are the numbers that Samaritan Health Services is betting on as it marches forward to develop a continuum of medical education, not just for Samaritan but for the region.  Read the full story >>
