Dermatologist proves his commitment to raising skin cancer awareness by offering free screenings

A dermatologist committed to skin cancer awareness is making it part of his new practice in an unusual way by offering screenings for the disease free of charge at the Austin Dermatology Center in La Jolla.

Erik Austin uses a holistic approach to his practice that specializes in a broad range of medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology that includes treatments for all conditions of the skin, hair and nails. His philosophy as a doctor is that patients come first. Part of what he calls a patient-centered approach means an easier time of getting in to see the doctor with same-day appointments and a half-hour spent with each patient.

…Austin is a member of the Scripps Medical Group for Excellence in Medicine, a group of 400 physicians and surgeons in the local area.
