College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific alumnus Jon Fong, DO ’84, is a writer and medical consultant on the NBC television series "The Night Shift." He wrote an upcoming episode, scheduled to air at 10 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, that features Michelle Obama and Jill Biden. The episode centers on health resources for veterans.

Three of the characters on "The Night Shift" are emergency room doctors who served in Afghanistan and are now working in the civilian world in San Antonio, Fong said.

"Providing health resources and support for PTSD and health-related issues is of interest to our show, and to Michelle Obama in particular," he said. "It starts with awareness, and hopefully our show helps bring that spotlight to all the families and members who have served."

After the episode airs, it will be available to watch online for a limited time at http://www.nbc.com/the-night-shift.
