Community leaders to visit WesternU today

Western University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy is holding its first Legislative Day Awareness Night on Friday, March 21 at 6 p.m. in the HPC Student Commons.

Guest speakers for the event are: Jeff Goad, president-elect of the California Pharmacists Association (CPhA); Dr. Judy Chu, chair of the state Board of Equalization; Theresa Andrews, CPhA director of membership; state Sen. Gloria Negrete McLeod, D-Montclair; Pomona Mayor Norma Torres; Victor Law, co-chair of the United Pharmacists Network Inc. (UPNI) Board of Directors; and Assemblyman Mike Eng, D-El Monte.

The goal is to bring together current and future health professionals and community leaders to facilitate a positive exchange of ideas and dialogue.

The event is organized by CPhA, the National Community Pharmacists Association and the California Health Systems Pharmacists of Western University of Health Sciences.
