WesternU’s Harris Family Center for Disability & Health Policy Director Brenda Premo, MBA, will give the keynote address at the 2011 Inland Empire Disabilities Collaborative (IEDC) Conference on Oct. 19, 2011 in San Bernardino, Calif.

“Brenda Premo was selected as this year’s keynote speaker because she is a nationally recognized champion for disability rights and is also well known locally for her support of our Collaborative and the work that we do,” said Bill Nessel, IEDC Co-chair.

The IEDC Conference brings together service providers from an array of agencies and organizations serving people with disabilities throughout San Bernardino and Riverside counties for a day of educational workshops and networking.

The conference, titled “Strong Together — Serving Better,” will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Inland Regional Center Conference Center, 1365 S. Waterman Ave., San Bernardino, Calif. 92408.

General registration is now open. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Click here for more information about IEDC and to register for the conference.

This professional conference will emphasize the importance of expanding traditional views of care coordination to include home and community-based services, Premo said. IEHP and Molina Healthcare have done an excellent job in bringing together a consortium of more than 300 services to help people stay healthier.

“Collaboration is absolutely necessary at this point,” Premo said.
