Una Lee Jost, JD

As a new Associate University Counsel to Western University of Health Sciences, Una Lee Jost, JD, will assist in providing counsel and support to WesternU on a broad spectrum of issues to help fulfill WesternU’s mission and meet all legal and higher education compliance obligations. She will also be responsible for facilitating the review, negotiation, and approval process of contracts on behalf of WesternU.

Una earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Riverside, with a major in Biology and minor in Ethnic Studies. She subsequently received her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. Prior to joining WesternU, Una started her legal profession as a civil litigator at Los Angeles law firms for six years where she defended numerous public, private, and charitable entities in a variety of civil actions filed in both federal and state courts. She then served as Assistant General Counsel for three years at Azusa Pacific University from 2007-10. For the past decade, she served California nonprofits through her own law practice, providing legal advice and services on a myriad of legal matters encountered in the life cycle of nonprofit organizations. She has had the opportunity to serve as a board member for various nonprofit organizations, including the West Coast Mennonite Central Committee (WCMCC), an international relief, development and peace agency. She also regularly engages with the community, including volunteering as Advocacy Chair for a local school PTA, speaking on behalf of all children and youth at the local, state and federal levels. When not working, she can be found laughing at the jokes of her fourth grade resident comedian, spending time with her programmer husband Geoffrey, and looking forward to having time to experiment with her synthesizer/keyboard.

The Office of Legal Affairs is excited to have Una join their small but mighty team! Please help the OLA in welcoming Una to the WesternU campus community!
