Student leaders and volunteers from the Western University of Health Sciences club Pipeline to Health Careers (PHC), hosted virtual sessions on Saturday, October 17, 2020, where they were able to connect, mentor and teach K-12 students about the health professions.

PHC, which includes student leaders from COMP, CHS, CDM, CGN, CVM and COP, constructed curriculum tied to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and Common Core to empower our youth with confidence in tackling the sciences during distance learning. This curricular feat was made possible through 1:1 planning and feedback sessions with Dr. Camille Ramos-Beal, a principal within Pomona Unified School District. PHC has taken the immense and courageous step to continue providing programing for Health Career Ladder (HCL) students and families.

HCL is organized by Pipeline to Health Careers (PHC) with support from the Pomona Unified School District and the Office of Mission Integration, Center for Academic Community Engagement (ACE).
