Western University of Health Sciences President Robin Farias-Eisner, MD, PhD, MBA, held appreciation lunches for faculty, administration and staff in Lebanon, Oregon on July 28 and Pomona, California on Aug. 9, marking the largest employee gatherings he has presided over since becoming president on March 1, 2022. The goal of these luncheons was to convey his gratitude and to cultivate a congenial atmosphere as more in-person activities return.

“What I want to convey to all of you is sincere gratitude on behalf of the entire University,” Farias-Eisner said. “It well characterizes my feelings standing here today before you. And the fact that we’re here in person, that’s a big deal. And I’m grateful for that.”

Faculty, administration, and staff at both events were able to reconnect and mingle while enjoying a catered lunch. WesternU is planning a recognition banquet to show appreciation for the sacrifices made by employees during the pandemic and throughout the recent leadership changes.

“If you look at all the universities around the country, we really do stand alone in our unwavering focus on the dedication to things like humanism and compassion,” Farias-Eisner said. “Your sacrifices were personal and it wasn’t easy to endure the last couple of years. Thank you for your dedication and for your loyalty. It’s important for you to be recognized for the hardships that you’ve endured and the constant day in and day out dedication to the University and to the students. I want you all to know we’re always here for you. I want to bring back that warmth and family atmosphere.”

WesternU hired a consulting company to help launch a 10-year capital campaign.

“It will require the effort of every single one of us to make this successful. You’re going to see a lot of growth and expansion,” Farias-Eisner said. “I want to invite you in to help us, and all join together in moving our University forward, and this capital campaign will be one way to do that.”
